What is Right?

What is Right? is a question
that we need to keep asking and
talking about
with other kids and grown-ups everyday-

Maybe sometimes we can even go
somewhere very quiet
and ask ourselves, very quietly
What is Right?

Maybe if we can hear
that voice of our heart
inside ourselves
and figure out What is Right?
Maybe we can start to feel really good inside
and maybe even kind of quiet
and nice inside.

But if we don't keep asking ourselves
What is Right?
and talking about it
with other kids and grown-ups
(maybe even with animals/trees/bugs)
then we may never figure out the answer.

So, please, never stop asking
that big, big question:
What is Right?

What is Love? ... to the children of the world...

Love is like a rainbow
which has all the different colors
going in and out of each other-
all at the same time.

Did you ever see a real rainbow?
It's hard to tell where one color starts
and then mixes into the next color-

the red turns into orange,
which turns into yellow,
which turns into green,
which turns to blue,
and on and on like that.

All those different colors
are held together in one big, beautiful rainbow-
just like all our different inside feelings
are held together by that one big feeling called-
LOVE!

FATHER'S LOVE LETTER

Desiderata

Max Ehrmann

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

Poem: A THANK YOU PRAYER

For milk to drink and food to eat;
For eyes and ears and hands and feet;
Thank you God.

For mother, father, and their care;
For our house and clothes to wear;
Thank you God.

For friends with whom I run and play;
For sun and rain and night and day;
Thank you God.

For all the things You gave to me,
Help me to always thankful be.
Thank you God.

Health Benefits of Guyabano:

Guyabano/ soursop/ guayabano/ graviola has the following health benefits according to Bureau of Plant Industry:
Analyses of the flesh of the fruit show that it is deficient in calcium and phosphorus. According to Jansen and Donath it is deficient in vitamin A. Hermano and Sepulveda, however, report that it is an excellent source of vitamins B and C. Prinsan-Geerlings reports that the flesh of the fruit contains saccharose 2.53%, dextrose 5.05% and levulose 0.04 %.
The bark was studied by Greshoff who isolated and amorphous alkaloid, soluble in sodium or potassium hydroxide, but Ridley and Daruty is astringent, and is used in powdered form in diarrhea and dysentery. Kirtikar and Basu and Nadkarni say that it is much used as tonic by the Malays and Chinese. The fruit is used as an anthelmintic, and the unripe and dried fruit, also astringent, is used in diarrhea, among the Amerindians. With sugar, the pulp is refreshing, and is prescribed for diarrhea in Guiana, Antilles and Reunion. Tavera reports the roots are used by Amerindians to treat epilepsy.
I am not done yet. There are more!

WE COOKED THE GUYABANO JAM ( SOUR SOP JAM)

Recollection with my classmates

Last January 20, 2012; it was a fine Saturday that all third year college students had the recollection at Kimaya beach, Gingoog City. It was a venue for us to charge, to refill, to meditate, to be happy with classmates and with GOD. We listened to the soft music entitled "God is Calling Me". Each of us wrote our individual symbols which represents of who we are. Some are crying because, their personality reflects with their drawings. Our drawings and symbols were interpreted by Psychologist Joyce Salanatin.
After the said activity together we ate our lunch. Some had no baon that's why we shared our baons to those who had none. After our lunch break we continued our activity and we shared our feelings, our happy and sad memories and we were enlightened by the Holy Spirit afterwards. One of my classmates, named Christopher brought the digital camera and he took us many pictures. He tlod me then that he will tag it on facebook.
The place was so cool, so overwhelming, so attractive and good for relaxation. It is not always visited by tourist because, it is privately prepared for recollection only. The green, green grasses, flowers, bamboos and trees made the environment smell so fresh and it made me energize.

AWITING BAYAN

Bayan Ko

Original Tagalog lyrics by Jose Corazon de Jesus

Melody by Constancio de Guzman.

Ang bayan kong Pilipinas
Lupain ng ginto't bulaklak
Pag-ibig ang sa kanyang palad
Nag-alay ng ganda't dilag.
At sa kanyang yumi at ganda
Dayuhan ay nahalina
Bayan ko, binihag ka
Nasadlak sa dusa.

Ibon mang may layang lumipad
Kulungin mo at umiiyak
Bayan pa kayang sakdal dilag
Ang di magnasang makaalpas!
Pilipinas kong minumutya
Pugad ng luha ko't dalita
Aking adhika,
Makita kang sakdal laya!

SONETO

Bubuyog at kamya’y laging nag-uusap,

DALIT

Nag-aral siyang pilit
Nang karangala’y makamit.
Buong buhay s’yang nagtiis.
Makapagtapos ang nais.

Ang pera niya’y tinipid,
Sa guro ay di sumipsip.
Markang mataas, nakamit:
Tagumpay nga ang kapalit.

Inday, Pamutos Na
(Go Inday, Pack Your Things)

(Isinalin ni Teresita Maceda)

Inday pamutos na
Sa imong mga bestida
Kinsay imong padad-on
Si Ondo imong pamanhon.

Ondo ayaw’g awaya
Si Inday imong asawa
Imo ganing awayon
Ako man siyang bawion.

Unsaon ninyo pagbawi
Kinasal kami sa Pari
Unsaon ninyo pagboyboy
Inaslan kami ug baboy.

Ay, ay pagkakapoy
Niining mamalanghoy
Puston sa pinong ginit
Lugpitan sa dakong kahoy.

Dayon ayag-ayagon
Dayon puto-putohon
Puston sa dakong dahon
Sa baybay kaon-kaonon.

ELEHIYA

sapagkat ika’y maagang naulila

Lumaking salat sa pagmamahal sa magulang

Tanging kaibigan naging takbuhan

isang munting kaluluwang pinanabikan mo

Konting sulyap lamang sana anak ko

Kahit ako’y malamig ng tila yelo

Ngunit ito’y ipinagkait mo

Ngayon aking ina sa iyong paglalakbay

Baunin mo ang aming pagmamahal

Ihalik sa hangin aming mga pagmamahal

Ibulong sa Diyos na kami’y bantayan

Yakapin ng pagmamahal kahit sa panaginip lang

Nawa sa iyong pagtawid sa kabilang buhay

masilayan mo ang kaginhawahang

di natikman sa palad ko

PASTORAL

paminsan-minsan mang maranasan
ang purgatoryo. Bale-wala,
'ika nga, ang lahat ng ito
di naman bawat saglit
umaawit sila doon sa langit.

O anong sarap mabuhay sa mundo
kung di ka napapangiwi
'pag may taong nasasawi
o minsan, halos masawi lang naman
dahil di magamot
ng laway na nilunok
ang bitukang kumulubot. Basta’t hindi ikaw ito,
walang atraso
wala naman yatang kaso.

O Anong sarap mabuhay sa mundo
kung walang bobong istorbo,
mga kapitbahay o boss sa trabaho
o ilang balang daplis
ng ilang gagong pulis
at ng iba pang sangkaterbang lihis
na talaga namang kainis-inis,
mga produktong inilalako
mga pinunong unano
mga sundalo mga obispo
at samutsaring relihiyon
samutsaring imbestigasyon

at sa kalungkutang di mo maunawa
at sa inspirasyon ng pagkanta nang mahina
at habang namamasyal ka sa kalsada
ang lahat ay nakikita
nasasamyo ang mga sampaguita
nahihipo ang mga estatwa, napapantasya
kahit ang mga di kaano-ano,
kunwa’y nahahagkan sila o kaya’y naaano,
nakapagsusuot ka ng korto
at makukulay na sumbrero,
nakapagpupuyat sa disco,
nakakalangoy sa batis
nakakapagpiknik
sa gitna ng tag-init,
lahat ng ito na pawang nagpupugay
sa iyong buhay. Okay
sa olrayt, Bay,
habang naghihintay
sa gitna ng inyong pagsasaya

ang nakangiting punerarya.

Manggagawa

alipatong nagtilamsik, / alitaptap sa kadimlan;
